Behavioral Health Pavilion features renovation of inpatient and crisis areas
Indianapolis, IN---Community Health Network this week completed a $1.1 million renovation of its inpatient behavioral health hospital and crisis services and renamed the facility as Community’s Behavioral Health Pavilion. The facility, located on Community’s North Campus, provides inpatient mental health services and crisis services for residents throughout central Indiana. The name change reflects the broader scope of behavioral health services offered, which include treatment for patients
of all ages with mild to serious behavioral health issues. This renovation project was funded with federal stimulus money available through the Federal Recovery Act.
“We are fortunate to have received the federal stimulus money, which is being utilized to create improved access through our crisis intervention services, as well as inpatient behavioral health,” said Eric Crouse, Ph.D., vice president of behavioral health services at Community.
The renovated first floor/lobby area features the newest safety enhancements for patients and staff. It boasts eight private and secure consultation rooms and one medical consultation room. Also included are a new registration and waiting area and a monitoring/observation station with closed circuit TVs. A new, separate entrance was designed for behavioral health emergencies.
“A primary focus of this renovation is safety,” said Gigi Acevedo, executive director of inpatient psychiatric services at Community. “The new entrance provides a more private and secure admission area for ambulance patients.”
The new enhancements of the remodeled lobby and crisis areas at Community’s Behavioral Health Pavilion ensure a comfortable and safe environment for patients and families who are dealing with a highly emotional situation.
Community's 24-hour crisis line, 800-662-3445, provides immediate evaluations by phone and/or face-to-face for psychiatric emergencies.
