The Carmel Chamber of
Commerce's Applause Award
recognizes
a company that has
demonstrated outstanding
success.
Eligibility and Criteria
-
Nominees must demonstrate
success in the following
areas: growth and
stability; commitment to
quality; creative/unique
solutions to challenges;
entrepreneurial spirit and
overall contribution to the
community.
-
Nominees
must be current Chamber
member businesses.
-
Nominees
must be for-profit
businesses that have been in
operation a minimum of two
years.
-
Companies
may be nominated by other
companies, or may nominate
themselves.
-
All
nominations will be reviewed
by a committee of seven,
which includes the Chamber
Civic Pride Committee and
two additional Chamber
members.

Eligible
Applicants include any
organization, company,
or association
that meets the specific
criteria which includes
the following applicant
types:
-
Applicants may submit
specific projects for
review and/or
comprehensive practices
and policies that have
been implemented within
the organization.
-
Eligible
projects/practices must
have been initiated
within the past three
years and have been
completed by June 30,
2007 or have been fully
operational for one
year.
-
Nominees
will be judged on the
effect the
projects/practices have
on environmental quality
as well as the
uniqueness of the
project and the positive
effect it has on the
community.
-
Companies may be
nominated by other
companies or
individuals, or may
nominate themselves.
-
Nominees
will be asked to provide
a description of the
project/program and
documentation of
compliance. See form
and questions below.
-
All
nominations will be
reviewed by the Carmel
Green Initiative Panel
which will submit a list
of recommended projects
to the Chamber Civic
Pride Committee.

The Carmel Look Awards
were created by the Carmel
Chamber of Commerce and the
Carmel Redevelopment
Commission to celebrate and
recognize outstanding
construction (new and
renovation) by a business
whose efforts contributed to
the enhancement of the
community's overall visual
appeal.
-
Two awards
will be given: one for a
renovation project and one
for new construction.
-
Eligible
businesses must have
received a Certificate of
Occupancy in the year in
which they are nominated.
-
Nominees
will be judged on the
quality of work,
appropriateness of the
construction to its
surroundings, and
contribution of the
construction to the overall
look of the community.
-
Companies
may be nominated by other
companies or individuals or
may nominate themselves.
-
Nominees
will be asked to provide a
brief (up to three pages)
description of the project
and a list of credits,
including property owner,
architect, designer,
planner, consultants and
other pertinent players.
-
All
nominations will be reviewed
by a committee, which will
include the Chamber Civic
Pride Committee, the Carmel
Redevelopment Commission, an
architect, and two
additional Chamber members.

The Carmel

Valuable Volunteer Award was
created to celebrate and
recognize outstanding volunteer
contributions by a
businessperson whose efforts
made a difference in his or her
community during the year.
Eligibility and
Criteria
-
Nominees must be
full-time employees of
current Chamber member
businesses.
-
Any member business
employee is eligible;
however, employees of
not-for-profit
corporations must
demonstrate volunteer
commitments to
organizations other than
their employer.
-
Nominees will be judged
on their commitment to
improving their
community through their
volunteer efforts in the
past year.
-
Nominations will be
evaluated on direct
services, as well as
board service or
administrative
volunteering.
-
Individuals may be
nominated by their
company, by another
individual, or may
nominate themselves.
-
All nominations will be
reviewed by a committee
of seven, which include
the Chamber Civic Pride
Committee and two
additional Chamber
members.
